Biotechnology & Life sciences
Biotechnology is one of the fastest-growing, most critical areas of study of the new century, potentially solving biological puzzles that will help people live longer, healthier lives.
Rensselaer’s Center of Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies provides state-of-the-art facilities to house “constellations” of faculty, graduate students, and others who will constitute a critical mass of expertise within the focal areas of functional tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, integrative systems biology, biocomputation and bioinformatics, and biocatalysis and metabolic engineering.
These constellations synergize the efforts of many of Rensselaer’s outstanding research departments to advance biotechnology knowledge which can impact so many areas of our lives: prevention for infectious diseases or cancer, basic understanding of AIDS, development of next generation pharmaceuticals, regeneration of human tissue, and analyzing environmental damage, to name a few.
Numerous endowment opportunities exist to impact biotechnology research
at Rensselaer.
