CLASS (Clustered Learning Advocacy and Support for Students) is the defining model for the student experience at Rensselaer, and your residential experience is an integral part of the CLASS experience. By joining a community of learners and engaging in targeted residential programs, support and resources, students will begin developing intellectual agility, multicultural sophistication, and global awareness, keys to success at Rensselaer and beyond.
Each class is supported by a team of residence life cluster deans, upperclass student staff, faculty residential commons deans, and a class dean. This will ensure that every student knows where to turn for help at all times, and receives the best individual counseling, mentoring, and personal attention that Rensselaer has to offer.
As part of CLASS, all students are required to live on campus (and participate in a dining plan) during the freshman and sophomore years to facilitate the first-year and sophomore year experience programs. To assist in your transition into our first year experience, complete the online application and roommate profile to facilitate a great fit with a community and roommate.
Residence Hall assignments will be sent to your Rensselaer e-mail address after you complete and mail in your Student Orientation Registration Form.
