Choosing Your Dining Plan

Resident first-year students must subscribe to one of two dining plans.

Flex Dollars add flexibility to your dining options and are incorporated into each plan. They are yours to spend like cash at Hospitality Services locations in the Rensselaer Union, retail cafés around campus, concessions, Commons, and BARH marketplaces. Flex Dollars are allotted by semester and carry over from fall to spring, but end on the last day of the academic calendar and are thereafter forfeited.

Dining Plans:

  • Unlimited
Unlimited meals per week to be used in Resident Dining Halls, plus $100 in Flex Dollars per year. Non-transferrable. The Unlimited plan offers ultimate flexibility for the busy student.
  • 15 On Demand
15 meals per week to be used any time, plus $500 Flex Dollars for the year. Non-transferrable.

Both plans offer on-demand dining, and a variety of food formats that can be enjoyed whenever your schedule allows.

Late Night Dining: Late night dining is available in the Commons Dining Hall, Monday through Thursday, 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This service is open to all meal plan holders.

Dining halls are closed when Rensselaer is not in session, including Thanksgiving and winter/spring recesses. Certain dining facilities may be closed during specified periods of the academic year.
