Technology and Social Theory

This seminar examines interactions between technology and society as seen from the vantage point of social and political theory. Careful reading of Marx, Mumford, Arendt, Foucault, and contemporary thinkers enables students to formulate their own ideas about the place of technology in human affairs. Alternate years.
