Perception in Action
This course will focus on the role of perception in the performance of both routine and skilled goal-directed activities, such as walking along a crowded sidewalk, playing sports, and driving automobiles. Content will be drawn from current empirical, theoretical and computational research on such topics as perceiving direction of self-motion, intercepting moving objects, catching and hitting balls, and avoiding collisions with obstacles. Prerequisite: PSYC-4410 Sensation and Perception. Spring term annually.
