PHYS-2620

Fundamentals of Optics

A survey of optics and optical phenomena and their applications. A modern laboratory is part of the course. Topics include geometrical optics and instruments, wave and Fourier optics, and polarization of light. Applications of modern optics to communications and manufacturing are stressed. Prerequisite: PHYS-1200 or equivalent. Spring term annually.
