Comparative Religion

What is religion? What are its origins? What are its essential practices? To answer these questions, different religious traditions-Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and Shinto are studied in terms of their concepts of radical defectiveness, the sacred, ways of ultimate transformation, and human perfection. Fall term annually.
