Theory of Structures

Normal and shear stresses in beams of nonsymmetric solid and thin-walled cross section subjected to bending and torsion. The principle of virtual displacements and Castigliano’s theorems. Calculation of the stresses in statically determinate and indeterminate trusses, beams, frames, and rings. Structural stability. Offered biannually.
