Lamination theory: In-plane and out-of-plane response of symmetric and non-symmetric laminated plates. Thermal and hygrothermal effects. Test methods. Interlaminar stresses. Failure and damage. Joining of laminates. Laminated tubes. Design examples. Prerequisite: ENGR-2530. Spring term annually.
