Designing with Geosynthetics

Civil Engineering applications of geosynthetics including geotextiles, geogrids, geonets, geomembranes, geosynthetic clay liners, geopipe and geocomposites. Designing by function, including separation, reinforcement, filtration, drainage, liquid barrier, and combined functions. Applications in the areas of landfills, groundwater drains, geotextile reinforced walls and slopes, roadways, and other civil engineered type structures. Prerequisite: CIVL-2630 or equivalent. Spring term alternate years.
