CHME-6610

Mathematical Methods in Chemical Engineering I

Development and application of mathematical methods for the solution of chemical engineering problems. Classical solution methods for ordinary and partial differential equations. Major emphasis is given to the mathematical implications of describing and solving representation of chemical reactors and other systems. Case studies relevant to other departmental graduate courses and ongoing research activities are discussed. The mathematical methods include series solutions, special function representations, boundary-value problems, and operational calculus. Prerequisite: MATH-2400. Fall term annually.
