 Graduation Checklist

Before you can graduate, you must complete this checklist from the Office of the Registrar.

 Ticket Pickup/Status Check: Thursday, May 14
Heffner Alumni House, Great Room

  • 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 Commencement Rehearsal: Wednesday, May 27
Arena Gymnasium, East Campus Athletic Village

  • Undergraduate Students—1 p.m.
  • Graduate Students—6 p.m.

 President’s Commencement Colloquy: Friday, May 29

  • 3:30 p.m.
  • Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center Concert Hall

 Ph.D. Hooding Exercise: Saturday, May 30

  • 7:00 a.m.
  • East Campus Athletic Village, Practice Arena

Admiral Michelle HowardAdmiral Michelle Howard, Vice Chief of Naval Operations, To Address Rensselaer Graduates at 209th Commencement

Admiral Howard will receive an honorary degree at the ceremony, along with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Craig Mundie, and David M. Rubenstein.

On the eve of Commencement, Rensselaer will convene for the 2015 President’s Commencement Colloquy. Led by President Jackson, Howard, Gates, Mundie, and Rubenstein will participate in a discussion titled “Resilient Leadership for a Resilient World.” More Info


President’s Picnic for the Graduates, Saturday, May 30

The picnic, hosted by President Shirley Ann Jackson and co-hosted by the academic deans, will take place immediately following the Commencement ceremony at the ’86 Field and Hassan Quadrangles on the Main Campus.


Seating Options

You’ll have the option of seating on the Field (at the same level of the stage), or in elevated seating in the Stadium. There will be 5,700 guest seats available on the Field, and 3,800 seats available in the Stadium.

As you enter the East Campus Athletic Village, you’ll need to decide which seating option is preferable for you so ushers can direct you.

Both seating areas will be on a first-come first-served basis.
