Rensselaer’s extensive preparation of students to enter the next stage of their lives reaches far beyond the classroom.

The Career Development Center (CDC) is acclaimed by Rensselaer alumni for helping students take charge of and manage their futures — everything from writing a resumé and polishing job interview skills to researching career options and potential employers.

The center offers a comprehensive program of career development, co-op, internship, and job placement activities to both undergraduate and graduate students. Rensselaer students have 24-hour access to job postings and career-related resources via the Web.

Graduating Student Services

In 2007-2008, over 2,000 students participated in on-campus recruiting and applied for open jobs through the Career Development Center.

As of June 1, 2008, the top employers for the Class of 2008 are: GE, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Deloitte, BAE Systems, United Technologies, Accenture, Boeing, IBM, Flowserve Corporation, and FactSet Research Systems.

Cooperative Education Program

Rensselaer's optional Cooperative Education (Co-op) Program, which is open to both undergraduate and graduate students, provides an excellent vehicle for students to gain work experience while still in college.

Over 250 students participated in co-op in 2007-2008, working for leading employers such as GE, IBM, United Technologies, Boeing, Johnson & Johnson, Activision and Apple.

The vast majority of co-op students obtain their jobs through the Career Development Center and can apply for a wide variety of positions across the country.
