SEVERINO CENTER Students like Kyle Brody recognize that they have an invaluable resource on campus the Paul J. 69 and Kathleen M. Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship. The center offers guidance mentorship and coaching to students who are starting businesses connecting them with resources and networks within the Rensselaer community and beyond. Within the center is a constellation of valuable services and programs such as The Student Sandbox a place to gather and share ideas. The Rensselaer Entrepreneurship Internship Program REIP which offers students 14-week intensive internships with select entrepreneurial companies. Foundry-RPI where would-be entrepreneurs can get feedback on a weekly basis. Interactive Demo Day which showcases current work from students who have developed interactive projects within their classes as research assistants or on their own. Rensselaer Business Model Competition in which student teams compete for cash prizes and in-kind services while improving their business plans through workshops customer interviews coaching feedback and live practice sessions. Rensselaer is ranked 11th among the nations most entrepreneurial research universities according to the FORBES 2014 most entrepreneurial universities list.
