Celebrate the Second Annual RPI Spirit Day on February 1Rensselaer students, faculty, and staff are invited to join alumni around the globe in showing their Rensselaer pride on Friday, February 1, for the second annual RPI Spirit Day.
Simply wear your RPI gear to work or class, and put your pride in your Rensselaer connection on display for everyone to see. Last year’s displays of pride included pets, kids, freshman beanies, flags, pennants—even a Zamboni!
“Your demonstration of pride can be as simple as wearing red. We hope you’ll consider doing
something to show the world that you are a member of the incredible Rensselaer community,” said Jeff Schanz, assistant vice president for alumni relations.
Also, be sure to take part in the RPI Spirit Day photo contest. Last year, more than 250 alumni participated, and the photos were shared over social media, where participants “liked” their favorites and prizes were awarded for the most dinner complete with face painting and “tattoos” courtesy of the Red & White Student Organization, and a Pep Band performance.
A free shuttle will take fans from the Heffner Alumni House to the Houston Field House for the big game against Dartmouth. After the game, take the shuttle back to the Heffner Alumni House to meet the men’s hockey team and the coaches. Get an autograph and meet your favorite players while you enjoy a cash bar and complimentary hot drinks, desserts, and snacks.
The Office of Alumni Relations has a limited number of tickets available for the Big Red Freakout hockey game. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis, to Ice House attendees only.
