DVD Release Party “Ensemble Congeros: Chasing the
Rhythms”
Saturday, March 31 at 8 p.m.

Ensemble Congeros

Congeros are known for their commitment to rhythm and the drum as the medium for communication. Founded in 2004 by Eddie Ade Knowles, former vice president for student life and a professor of drumming at Rensselaer, Ensemble Congeros is an outgrowth of the interest and passion of Rensselaer students who excelled in Knowles' course Introduction to Afro-Cuban Percussion and who wanted to continue "chasing the rhythms." The group, dedicated to the study of Afro-Cuban, African, and New World percussion, has played to audiences throughout the Capital Region, and has become a favorite guest at the Arts Center. The group will celebrate the release of their new DVD, Ensemble Congeros: Chasing the Rhythms, on Saturday, March 31, at 8 p.m. at the Arts Center of the Capital Region, located at 265 River Street in Troy. Tickets are $15/$12 members, which includes a copy of the CD. For more information, call 273-0552 or go to artscenteronline.org.
