Civil Engineers Visit
George Washington Bridge
In November, structural engineering students from Rensselaer traveled to the George Washington Bridge for an in-depth tour of the “1931 marvel of engineering.”
The suspension bridge spans the Hudson River, connecting the Washington Heights neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City to Fort Lee, Bergen County, New Jersey.
Hector Eugui ’96 (in yellow coat), supervisor of maintenance planning for the George Washington Bridge and Bus Station, hosted the group. Chris Letchford, head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Rensselaer (kneeling at left), also attended the tour.
This was the fourth year that a Rensselaer student group has taken the tour. |
