Air Force ROTC Hosts Annual Run to Remember Charity Race
Despite the breezy weather that is typical at the beginning of the fall season, more than 100 participants from the Rensselaer campus community and the Capital Region took part in the 17th annual “Run to Remember” 5K charity race. The event, held Sept. 22, was hosted by the Rensselaer Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Air Force 550th Cadet Wing.
Participants ran the challenging course that led them through the Rensselaer campus, starting and ending at the Houston Field House. Brian Debronsky, an aeronautical engineering graduate student, won the race with a time of 16:17. Katherine Boy, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering, was the top female finisher with a time of 21:38.
This year, the race raised more than $1,000, which will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that serves American’s wounded veterans.
