EMPAC Presents Albany Pro Musica:  John Brown’s Body

Albany Pro Musica will perform works from the Civil War era, including Vaughan Williams’ passionate Dona Nobis Pacem set to Walt Whitman’s wartime texts, at the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center. The concert will be augmented by period images and readings of letters from Civil War soldiers. Featuring Karen Slack, soprano, Keith Kibler, baritone, and the Pro Musica Orchestra. The concert is presented in conjunction with the New York State Archives Partnership Trust conference, “The Civil War on Trial: Legal Issues That Divided a Nation.” The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35/$25/$10.
