The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus came to Albany in May and they invited some Rensselaer engineering students to go backstage for a behind-the-scenes meeting with “The Human Fuse” (aka Brian Miser). The Human Fuse “flies across the arena floor from a crossbow (on fire) that he himself designed,” according to the circus’ spokesperson. The students were invited to get a “sneak peek” at the crossbow and chat with Miser about his process for designing the stunt for the show. Photos by Jill Evans
