Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser To Benefit Jacob Porter ’13

Get your bowling shoes on! Members of the Rensselaer campus community are invited to participate in a Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser event to benefit Jacob Porter ’13 and his family. Porter underwent surgery for a liver transplant in December.

The fundraiser — to be held at Uncle Sam Lanes in Troy — is planned for Sunday, April 3, from noon to 2 p.m., and also from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. To participate, 52 team captains are needed to recruit teams of four to five individuals.

Each bowler is required to make a contribution of $15, with $5 covering the bowling alley cost. The remaining proceeds will be donated to the Porter family to help defray medical expenses. Prizes will be awarded to the top scorers and winning teams.

For more information, contact the Office of the Student Experience at or call (518) 276-8022.
