Hartford Offers New Focus on Lean Applications in Healthcare

Rensselaer’s Hartford campus has introduced a new focus area for graduate management studies: the M.S. in management with a focus on lean applications in healthcare. This new focus has a curriculum designed to address the needs of professionals in the healthcare industry.

Leadership skills and lean business practices are important components of this timely course of study. Specific program highlights include:

• Managing more effectively while leading change initiatives that improve patient outcomes as well as improving the financial position of the organization
  
• Developing a better understanding of the legislative process and regulatory applications
  
• Learning to implement innovative project plans to increase productivity
  
• The latest concepts and best practices for updated business knowledge
  

The program is scheduled to start in spring 2012. Students in the program are part of a special cohort and complete the entire curriculum as a unified group. This format allows participants to develop ongoing relationships with peers, providing opportunities for networking and support. In addition, the collaborative relationship between students and faculty enhances the academic experience.
