14th Annual Student Appreciation and Volunteer Recognition Dinner April 28
The Clothe-A-Child Committee, led by the Dean of Students Office and Rensselaer Hospitality Services, is hosting the 14th Annual Student Appreciation and Volunteer Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, April 28, at 5:30 p.m., in the Faculty Staff Dining Hall. The annual celebration of Rensselaer students and student volunteer initiatives benefits the Rensselaer Union’s campaign to support the annual Troy Record Clothe-A-Child Campaign.

Money raised sponsoring students to attend the dinner will directly benefit Clothe-A-Child, helping to buy winter coats, hats, mittens and boots for local children whose families would otherwise not be able to afford them. According to Cynthia Smith, assistant dean of students, “this event is made possible by the generosity of Rensselaer’s administrators, faculty, and staff volunteering to wait tables and Rensselaer Dining Services organizing and cooking the food donations.”

Staff, faculty, and administrative volunteers are needed to wait and bus tables, for coat check, and to work in the kitchen before, during, and after dinner. All volunteers will be treated to dinner after the students are served. To join the list of volunteers, call 276-8589 no later than Monday, April 19.

If you know of work study students, learning assistants, resident advisors, research assistants, teaching assistants, or anyone else for whom you’d like to show your appreciation, consider sponsoring them to attend the Student Appreciation Dinner for $10 each. All money collected will go to Clothe-A-Child. Contact Patti Mugrace at 276-2874 or mugrap@rpi.edu with the names of the students you’d like to sponsor and a reservation will be made in their names.
This is a first-come, first-served event. Make your reservations no later than Friday, April 23.
