For the past five years, a delegation of students from Rensselaer has participated in an annual leadership conference hosted by the United States Naval Academy. Founded nearly 26 years ago, the conference brings together the best minds in the practice and study of leadership to exchange ideas, experiences, and methods with military and civilian students. This year’s theme focused on “Leadership Under Stress: Transforming Crisis Into Opportunity, ” and offered students advice and practical observations on the definition of crises and the physiological, mental, planning, and moral challenges faced by a leader.

From Jan. 24-27, three students from the Professional Leadership Program, developed by the Archer Center for Student Leadership, and top-ranking Cadet/Midshipmen from the Army, Navy (and Marine Corps), and Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corp detachments at Rensselaer, along with more than 240 undergraduate students representing more than 40 schools, attended the conference.
