| Celebrating the 1985 NCAA Championship Team |
 |
A highlight of this year’s Alumni Hockey Weekend was the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the 1985 NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship team. Eighteen members of the legendary team returned to campus to reminisce about that winning season.
A panel discussion attended by more than 250 fans in the Houston Field House featured four team members (Mike Sadeghpour ’85, Mike Dark ’86, Ken Hammond ’85, and George Servinis ’86) along with former sports information director Al Shibley. They shared stories of their winning season and talked about how the experience has shaped their lives. Former coach Mike Addesa was also in attendance, and he shared his memories of the championship year.
The following night, members of the 1985 team were honored during the men’s hockey game against Clarkson. Following the game (which Rensselaer won 2-1), they signed autographs for devoted fans.
