Severino Center Hosts Monthly Networking Event for Women
Looking for a sounding board to pitch a new business idea? Do you have a question for an intellectual property lawyer? Do you want to find out if social networking sites can help your business or concept? To answer these questions and more, the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship in the Lally School of Management & Technology has been hosting a monthly networking event for area women and members of the campus community. The Women’s Coffee House serves as an informal gathering of women entrepreneurs looking for other like-minded women for networking. The event is usually from 5 to 7 p.m. at Java ++, Rensselaer’s off-campus eatery. Individuals are encouraged to drop by as their schedules permit.

Past events have served to connect individuals from varying backgrounds and fields. Also, the monthly events often cover a range of topics that relate to business, entrepreneurship, interview preparation, and presentation skills. The next event, planned for Thursday, Feb. 18, will feature Susan Bardack, partner at Buzz Media Solutions and chief marketing officer at iZoca. Bardack will offer insights on social networking and blogging. Additional dates planned for the spring semester include: March 18, April 15, and May 20.
