International Scholars Program Now Linked With SETM

Rensselaer’s International Scholars Program (ISP) now has an additional degree option: the M.E. in Systems Engineering and Technology Management (SETM). Students will have the opportunity to complete a Rensselaer M.E. in Engineering in two terms, including the ISP summer term in Rome and Shanghai. Other ISP degree options are the M.S. in Management with a concentration in Global Enterprise Management, and the M.S. in Engineering Science with a concentration in Energy Systems.

The SETM program is a unique multidisciplinary degree designed to provide engineering students with the skills needed to lead and effect change in their industry. The program provides essential background in the financial metrics of business performance, the analytical modeling tools for applying these metrics in organizational and technical decision-making, and the critical challenges associated with new models of value creation and business growth across different industries.

Interested students can start a degree program in the fall, spring, or with the ISP itself in the 10-week summer term abroad. A typical SETM fall course schedule includes: Simulation Modeling and Analysis, Decision Sciences in Engineering Systems, Accounting for Reporting and Control, Financial Management I, and Networks Innovation and Value Creation I.

“Systems Engineer” ranked No. 1 on CNN Money.com’s “Best Jobs in America” list of 2009. The ISP gives Rensselaer alumni a competitive advantage by providing a global learning experience in Europe and Asia as part of a project team with corporate and industry interaction.
