The annual Campus Seasonal Celebration hosted by President Shirley Ann Jackson will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the East Campus Athletic Village gymnasium.

For the second year in a row, a pair of Rensselaer students took first place at the annual Student Manufacturing Design Competition held by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

This year the Institute will officially close during the holiday winter break beginning on Thursday, Dec. 23. The campus will re-open on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011.

After more than three decades of service on the Rensselaer Board of Trustees, Samuel Heffner Jr. ’56 has announced his intent to retire from the board at the end of the calendar year.

To further support its mission, the center will now be called the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD).

Rensselaer’s International Scholars Program (ISP) now has an additional degree option: the M.E. in Systems Engineering and Technology Management (SETM).

Game designers Chris Foster of Harmonix and Jesse Schell of Schell Games recently visited Rensselaer for a discussion with Lee Sheldon, co-director of the Games & Simulation Arts and Sciences program, as host.

The Academic & Athletic Liaison Program is designed to enhance the relationship between faculty, coaching staff, and intercollegiate athletics. John Kolb ’79 is serving as the team’s first faculty liaison.

Sachi Ena has been named director of marketing and promotions for Rensselaer Athletics. She will oversee the Institution’s Athletic Marketing programs and development of new revenue opportunities.

More than 30 Rensselaer students traveled to the Lockheed Martin MS2 Radar Systems facility in Syracuse, N.Y., for an onsite leadership event.
