Rensselaer Capital Campaign Reaches Goal Nine Months Ahead of Schedule
The 46th annual Faculty Recognition Dinner was held April 30 in the Heffner Alumni House. The dinner celebrates faculty members who have achieved milestone years of employment, as well as recipients of Institute faculty awards including the William H. Wiley 1866 Distinguished Faculty Award (Xi-Cheng Zhang), James M. Tien ’66 Early Career Award for Faculty (Suvranu De), Jerome Fischbach Faculty Travel Grant (Ellen Esrock), and the Class of 1951 Outstanding Teaching Award (Dean Nieusma).

Celebrating 25 years of service: Ellen Esrock, associate professor oflanguage, literature, and communication; Robert Spilker, professor of biomedical engineering; and Gwo-Ching Wang, professor and chair of physics, applied physics, and astronomy, pictured with President Shirley Ann Jackson.

Retiring faculty: James Watt, professor of language, literature, and communication; Leonard Interrante, professor of chemistry and chemical biology; Richard Lahey, the Edward E. Hood Professor of Engineering; and Peter Wayner, professor of chemical engineering, along with President Shirley Ann Jackson.
