The Lally School of Management & Technology continues to host the Innovation Series, a weekly dialogue series exploring new and emerging ideas in the world of management and business. Last month, more than 100 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the surrounding community attended the program titled “Innovation in the Business of Media: Understanding the Transformations in the Media Industry.”
Noting that the media industry is undergoing a radical transformation driven by technological changes as well as changes in the habits of how people access information, T. Ravi Ravichandran, associate professor in the Lally School who served as the program moderator developed the forum as a way to explore the issues and have a broad-ranging discussion on the forces shaping the media industry and the innovative ways in which organizations are adapting.
The distinguished panel of accomplished media executives included: Robert Altman, president, WMHT, Albany; Michelle Manafy, editor of Econtent Magazine; Michael Miller ’79, senior vice president for technology strategy at Ziff Brothers Investments; and Patti Hart, general manager, Timesunion.com, Albany.
The panel discussion was videotaped. To view the program, visit: http://mediasite.itops.rpi.edu/Mediasite5/Viewer/?peid=80eabd3afcb04fddab0fa81bf22b62fe. |
