Rensselaer’s Winter Sports Teams
While Rensselaer’s winter sports teams have wrapped up their seasons, accolades and honors keep pouring in.

The 2007-08 Liberty League Winter All-Academic Team includes 62 Rensselaer student-athletes. Overall, Rensselaer’s student-athletes had a tremendous semester academically, posting an average grade point average of 3.11 for the fall 2007 semester.

And for the 12th straight semester, Rensselaer’s student-athletes out-performed the school’s non-student-athletes, who had an average semester grade point average of 3.05.

ECAC Hockey has announced its members of the 2008 Women’s All-Academic Team and a league-high 21 Rensselaer student-athletes have been recognized, including 11 who are making their second straight appearances on the list.

“It’s an honor to lead our league in All-Academic selections this season,” said head coach John Burke.

“I think it’s a real testament to the balance of excellence, both in the classroom and on the ice, that we strive for here at Rensselaer.”

Rensselaer women’s hockey honorees include Julie Aho, Kelly Barbera, Melissa Boik, Rossli Chace, Kendra Dunlop, Emily Ford, Ashley Gaylord, Laura Gersten, Melanie Guillemette, Jaime Jacquard-Sowa, Ashley Mayr, Nicole McDonald, Ellen McNamara, Whitney Naslund, Sydney O’Keefe, Jamie-Lynn Stewart, Brooke Thompson, Sonja van der Bliek, Allysen Weidner and Allison Wright.
