The New York Capital District Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) celebrated its 57th annual Joint Services Military Ball last month. Thomas A. Shannon Jr., assistant secretary of state for western hemisphere affairs, was the guest of honor. More than 360 individuals attended the event, including ROTC members representing branches of the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines from area universities, as well as ROTC officers and guests. The event, held in Albany, has been part of the ROTC tradition at Rensselaer since 1950.
