Smithsonian's "Earth From Space" Exhibit Family Day
The Houston Field House was a sea of red on Feb. 2 for the 31st annual Big Red Freakout! hockey game.

More than 5,000 fans, many of them wearing a red baseball cap that was given away as the annual souvenir, watched Rensselaer’s Engineers take on Princeton for this long-time hockey tradition. Between periods, the crowd was introduced to former hockey players who had gathered earlier in the day for the traditional alumni hockey game. Before the game, more than 550 fans attended the annual “Ice House” event held in the Heffner Alumni House.

Attendees enjoyed face painting, music by the Pep Band, a pre-game buffet meal, and a chance to try out their skates on a mini ice-skating rink that was set up outside the Heffner Alumni House. Following the game, fans attended a reception with members of the team and coaching staff.

The Engineers were defeated 4-0.
