Beyond the classroom, 28 members of the Rensselaer Ballroom Dance Team showed off their fancy footwork on the dance floor by participating in the Stony Brook Ballroom Competition held on Long Island, N.Y., on Nov.13. Team members competed in 41 dance events, ranging from beginner to advanced levels in smooth and Latin-style dances. Of special note, every couple received at least one award, and most couples won multiple awards, with six couples placing first overall in their respective dance styles and levels. “This was an exciting opportunity for all of us, and we are extremely excited about letting the RPI community know about our growing success,” said Olivia Lau, team co-captain.
