Rensselaer Fraternity Honored for Community Service by Troy City Council
Members of Rensselaer’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity were honored at a brief ceremony held at Troy City Hall during a City Council meeting recently. The organization was recognized for its community service efforts during Earth Day 2007.

Last spring, more than 30 members worked to clean and remove trees, brush, and debris from the Old Mount Ida Cemetery and Kinloch Park areas. According to the fraternity, their actions also served as part of the organization’s “True Gentleman Day of Service” program, which is a day in which all Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapters across the nation contribute to their local communities. Pictured are several members of the fraternity with the plaque that the organization received for its community service efforts.
