Ruel Named WEPAN Director
Rensselaer “is a dedicated advocate for gender diversity in engineering,” said WEPAN Executive Director C. Diane Matt. “Ms. Ruel’s experience, perspective, and leadership will contribute greatly to WEPAN.” WEPAN’s aim is to improve engineering education by creating understanding of issues relevant to attracting and retaining female students, and by working to transform culture in engineering education to retain and graduate undergraduate women. The appointment was made by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) Committee on Technical Publications. Jensen, an expert on heat transfer whose research includes fuel cells and solar conversion, will serve as the journal’s technical editor through January 2014. Jensen, who has served on editorial boards of several other journals and has chaired or co-chaired six international conferences, is a member of Rensselaer’s Center for Multiphase Research, Center for Future Energy Systems, Center for Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Research, and Center for Automation Technologies and Systems. |
