Business Review Announces 40 Under Forty Award Winners
For eight years, the Capital District Business Review has been recognizing up-and-coming working professionals who are living and doing business in the Capital Region. This year’s honorees, selected by a panel of business leaders who had nearly 300 nominees to consider, were recognized at the Business Review’s ninth annual 40 Under Forty luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany on May 1. Rensselaer was a sponsor of the event.

Vikash Agrawal ’98 (M.S. in Management, M.S. in Chemical Engineering) was one of this year’s honorees. Agrawal co-founded Etransmedia Technology Inc., a medical billing and transcription company, from Rensselaer’s Incubator, where 80 percent of the company’s management team are Rensselaer alumni. “Having two master’s degrees from RPI,” said Agrawal, “gave me the skill sets to exceed in a technical field and grow as an entrepreneur.”

In addition to the 40 young business leaders recognized, four outstanding high school students who have demonstrated the potential to excel and succeed in business were also honored. One of the students was Haidan “Dan” Huang, a senior at Shaker High School who will be attending Rensselaer in the fall to major in management. His father is Hanchen Huang, professor of mechanical, aerospace, and nuclear engineering at Rensselaer.
