Engineers Capture the Dutchman’s Shoes
Rensselaer’s Engineers football team defeated Union’s Dutchmen, 20-14, in the Dutchman’s Shoes Trophy Game on Nov. 10.

With the win, the Engineers ended the regular season at 8-1 to capture the Liberty League Championship, and retain the Shoes for the second straight year. The Dutchman’s Shoes game is the oldest college football rivalry in New York state. This was the first time the Engineers defeated Union in Schenectady since 1992.

The victory earned Rensselaer an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, where they were defeated by The College of New Jersey, 17-14 in first round action Nov. 17 at ’86 Field.
