What is Java?

Java is a brand new programming language that allows Internet World Wide Web applications to come alive with animation, interactivity, database querying, and more. Java also can stand alone, creating applications that don't need a web browser to be run, or Java can be used to create 'applets' which can be included in web pages.

At this site, I have created a Java applet that demonstrates the phi phenomenon on a platform neutral environment. The advantage of such an applet in academic circles is obvious and staggering. At any point, researchers and cognitive scientists with internet access can review our site from anywhere in the world. They can execute and interact with our one demonstration from any of an expanding number of capable computers. This has allowed us to efficiently create one Java application and leave it out for an audience that is expanding every day.

Check the rest of the Phi page for details about the phi phenomenon.
